Founded in March 2005, by Rita Guariglia and Anne Maitland, Literacy Volunteers on the Green began with 12 newly trained tutors and an initial group of 30 students. Today, with the dedication and commitment of our tutors and students, these numbers have grown dramatically. As of fall 2007, Literacy Volunteers on the Green has served 253 students and trained 107 tutors. This expansion reflects the indisputable need for these services within our communities.
