Get Involved
Dr. James House of the University of Michigan studied a group of people for more than a decade. The results of that study indicated that doing regular volunteer work, more than any other activity, dramatically increased life expectancy.
Getting involved with Literacy Volunteers on the Green can be both rewarding and fun. You can contribute in a variety of ways, depending on your availability. Our opportunities range from becoming a tutor to being on a committee in support of one of our events. Some of our current needs are: grant writing, helping to prepare for our tutor training sessions which are held twice annually, posting our signs, and helping with translation. Our needs are many and varied.
