Classroom Material on Swine Flu
With the recent events regarding swine flu, you may want to discuss the issue with your students to make sure that they are aware of and understand this ever changing situation. Misinformation could lead to panic or inaction – both of which pose a danger to your students. We have found two good articles (one with extended activities) to help you present information in a comprehensible way.
This Breaking News English exercise contains both an article and activities for before, during, and after reading. The lesson comes in Word and PDF format as well as with audio in MP3 format which you should be able to easily play by simply clicking on the link.

We also found another article on a site called VOA News that has a “Special English” section. This site is a great regular resource for articles geared towards ESL learners. All articles are written clearly and with simple sentence structures. All articles also come with an audio version in MP3 format.
